Fall Has Arrived

Today, Julia wore her hoodie for the first time. The girls enjoyed getting bundled up for their walk as it was a pretty chilly day outside. Gone are the days in which I could easily transfer the girls in their onesies to the stroller for a brief walk. Ahh...summer will be missed.

In other news, Julia is cutting her first tooth! She would not let me get a photo of it, but she definitely has been quite uncomfortable as a result. Majorly fussy might more aptly describe it. How many more teeth to go again??

Best Friends Already

On Mondays through Thursdays, Mama brings Julia with to watch baby Stephie at her house. Stephie is only one day older than Julia! The girls are becoming the best of friends.





Today, they enjoyed some study time together on the couch. They learned about bugs and families. (or maybe just how to chew on the books most effectively). Either way, they made the most of a dreary, rainy day!

Julia's Busy Weekend

First, she decided to rest up for the eventful weekend by sinking into a cloud of blankets at Grandma Mary's house.

Then, she found humor in the fact that her cute new size 12 month strawberry shirt was a tad too snug.

To prove to us that she is comfortable with her adorable baby pudge, she went ahead and ate a whole bowl of avacado despite the fact that she obviously wasn't a big fan and made quite a face after each bite.

On Sunday, she told mama that she was a big girl now and wanted to wear big girl jeans for the first time. Mama complied.

Next was her first trip to IKEA. She was so excited to be out of the baby carrier and in the front of the cart.

However, as we neared the end of our trip, she found IKEA on a Sunday afternoon a tad overwhelming. Mama and dada didn't do much to help this sentiment.

All in all, Julia decided that this weekend was indeed satisfactory.

6 month check-up!

Today, Julia went to her 6 month checkup and now weighs a whopping 18 lbs. 1 oz. (75th percentile for weight). She is also 75th percentile for head circ. and very tall at 95th percentile for height!

The biggest news is that she is officially sitting up on her own now...what a big girl already! Above are some pics of her at Papa Ray and Grandma Mary's house tonight.

Well, not really...but it should be! Julia has a fascinating mix of ancestry.

Recipe to make one Julia Quinto:

1/8 Norwegian, 1/8 Guatemalan, 1/8 Chinese, 1/8 Italian, more than 1/8 but unsure exactly how much German, throw in a bit of British, Swedish, Danish, a small pinch of Native American (Blackfoot Indian) and Irish, and and whatever else from Mama's side that she doesn't even know about.

One thing's for certain...she doesn't look anything like mommy or daddy!!
